Delete your account

For Briza Watch on the web and in the iPhone and Android app — it is the same account.

Delete it yourself

  1. Sign in at brizawatch.co.za, or open the Briza Watch app.
  2. Go to Settings (on a phone: More → Your account & privacy).
  3. Under Your data (POPIA), tap Erase my account and confirm.

It happens immediately and you are signed out. You can tap Download my data first if you want a copy.

Or ask us

If you can’t sign in, email info@brizawatch.co.za from the address on your account, asking for it to be deleted. A board member will erase it, normally within 7 days, and confirm by email.

What is deleted

  • Your name, email address, phone number and address.
  • Your password, and every signed-in session.
  • Your patroller or board profile, bio and photo.
  • Your roles and access.
  • Notifications to your phones and browsers, and newsletters.

What is kept, without your name

Some records belong to the organisation and other residents, so they stay — but nothing on them identifies you any more:

  • Incident reports you made (shown as made by an erased account).
  • Patrol shifts and hours, which make up the patrol statistics.
  • The audit log entry recording that the account was erased.

Signed indemnity waivers and donation records are kept for as long as the law requires for legal and financial records. Live patrol location trails are deleted after 30 days in any case.
